When checking the market for crash bars I found that the ones offered by RE are really nimble and overpriced. Not a good choice IMO.
All offers from western sellers are crazy expensive - so it may be worth googling with a VPN set to India (or else you miss most as google.com wont show results from India as a rule).

The Euro is worth 100 Rupees (roughly, it changes today its 1.04) which makes calculation really easy.
While one can find crash bars from 2500 INR a good one will set you back approx. 4000 INR plus shipping. IMO the qiality of the good ones is similar to western products, good quality steel and powder coating.

e.g. these available in black and red:

In the west the cheapest are around 100 euros and go up to 250 euros for decent quality.

I do not know shipping, it may be around 50 euros from India because of weight and size, but still cheaper I guess.

All versions of the 411 Hima and Scram use the same frame so all crash guards will fit either model.

Hello, thanks for redireting me to this post. I am afraid of crash bars so large ... What do you think of this model, although it has a slider which makes it maybe as large?

By Mototorque.

There is another model much higher up I find exaggerated, does it actually add protection to anything?

I still haven't decided where to mount spotlights, on the crash bar could be a solution.
I guess I will see when I have them...

Thank you for any comment, idea, suggestion...

For me those guards are for low speed falls which are quite common when you do bad roads in the mountains. Nothing really helps if you crash high speed. But those guards protect you foot and lower leg from getting stuck under the engine, something that happened to me a few years ago.

the indian company offers a set of connectors specifically for lights to be attached. I use them on all of my bikes, the other option is to bore into the guard which I do not like to do.

I actually use modified bullet guards but they require someone who makes them - not easily done in the west for small money.

Just via normal site cart chekout they ship within India only.

So, why am I looking into crash bars: last saturday I went out with the bike to buy some things. When I was parkng I lost balance and leaned the bike too much onto the left side, so much I couldn't hold the Scram or rise it up again. To protect my back I just accompanied the bike not to hit ground too hard and put the bike down. And fell over.
No big deal.
To my satisfaction I was able to pick the bike up again. But then I noticed the gear lever was bent inward, so that I couldn't switch gears anymore.
With bare hands I was able to bent outward so much that the switching works again.

So I was hoping to find a crash bar not too big and heavy mostly to protect the shifter/pedal in case I drop the bike in the future.

Does that make sense?

Bullet guards? The sliders attached to the tubular structure?
no those, they give maximum protection without being in the way of my legs when I fall

yes, many do, India requires an export license to sell outside and its a nightmare to get like all red tape here. check ebay, some Indian sellers are using that. we used to sell them but packing and shipping turned out to be too much of a hassle. while shipping inside india works with minimum packing like just some bubble wrap if you send internationally it needs to be enclosed in thick cardboard which makes the thing expensive and work intensive.
